I've mentioned MPX as possible different choice. Either Plate or Room 2nd.Īll Valhalla plugs are very good. Valhalla VVV remains my top choice right now. Nothing in the NI descriptions I saw, but is this possible? I know Softube is involved with RC24/48, but had comment that these were somehow Lexicon-related. For 50USD it can be interesting alternative to Valhalla IMO.Īnd if someone likes generally usable PCM sounds without vintagey vibe, LXP is very good offer for 100USD.
#Valhalla vintage verb vs rc24 upgrade
As I wrote PCM density isn't there, but it is definitely usable, I can imagine for someone, who want easy upgrade of its built-in DAW reverb or something like Waves TrueVerb or so.

I also doesn't like real MPX so much, but in context of 50USD plugins, it isn't really bad to me. MPX is completely different plugin, which has one new common algorithm covering all of its sounds (a la Oxford Reverb for instance). LXP native contains subset of the same algos from PCM96 (hall, plate, room, chamber) with limited tweakability and different UI, classics like random hall, concert hall, vintage plate are omitted I was initially also bit confused about that weird classification, but they apparently just did that to indicate their lowest plugin. This MPX native plugin according to some thread at GS with official replies doesn't have common algorithms with hardware version with the same name as opposed to their PCM and LXP native plugin line (which shares algos with PCM96). Always wanted a real one but things move on at a dizzying pace in the virtual world dont they? Now if it was some of the really expensive ones or the real old classics, I would be on that.Ĭome to think of it even a PCM70. Had a couple of real MPXs over the years.
